What it does
When someone from a company visits your website, the Signal Agent:- Identifies the company - matches the visitor to a real business using IP intelligence and behavioral signals
- Enriches the record - pulls in company size, industry, location, funding status, and key contacts
- Scores the visit - evaluates how closely the company matches your ideal customer profile
- Creates or updates a record - adds the company to your CRM or updates an existing one with the new activity
- Triggers next steps - if the company qualifies, it can hand off to the Outreach Agent for automatic follow-up
When to use it
The Signal Agent is for teams who want to know who’s looking at their website before those visitors reach out. It’s especially valuable when:- You have meaningful website traffic but low form conversion rates
- You want to proactively reach out to companies researching your product
- You want to prioritize follow-ups based on which prospects are actively engaged on your site
How to set it up
The Signal Agent requires the Signal tracking script to be installed on your website. See Installing Signal for the full setup guide. Once the script is installed, the Signal Agent activates automatically. You can configure:- Qualification criteria - which types of companies should be flagged as high priority
- Handoff rules - whether qualified companies should be automatically passed to the Outreach Agent
- Notifications - get alerted when high-value companies visit your site
What you’ll see
In your Octolane dashboard, the Signal Agent surfaces:- A list of companies currently visiting or recently visited your website
- Which pages they viewed and how many times they’ve been back
- How well each company matches your ideal customer profile
- Suggested contacts at those companies for outreach
