Custom AI Fields are fields that populate themselves. You define what information you want to track, and Octolane extracts it from your emails, meetings, website data, and connected tools.

How it works

  1. Create a field - give it a name and tell Octolane what to look for (in plain English)
  2. Octolane scans your data - it reads emails, meeting transcripts, website activity, and enrichment data to find the answer
  3. The field fills in - the value appears on the relevant record and stays updated as new data comes in

Examples

  • Budget range - “What budget or price range has the prospect mentioned?” → Octolane scans email threads and meeting transcripts for pricing discussions
  • ICP tier - “Is this company a Tier 1, 2, or 3 fit based on our criteria?” → Octolane evaluates company size, industry, and engagement signals
  • Buying timeline - “When does this prospect want to make a decision?” → Octolane looks for timeline mentions in conversations
  • Decision maker - “Who is the final decision maker?” → Octolane identifies key stakeholders from email and meeting participants
  • Competitor mentioned - “Has the prospect mentioned any competitors?” → Octolane flags competitive mentions in threads

Creating a Custom AI Field

Go to Settings → Data Model → Add Field → AI Field. Describe what you want the field to capture in plain English. Choose which object it belongs to (deal, contact, or company) and Octolane starts filling it in across your records.
