Signal doesn’t just show you a list of IP addresses. It tells you which companies are on your site, how good a fit they are, and who to contact.

How identification works

When someone visits your website, Signal uses a combination of IP intelligence, reverse DNS lookups, and behavioral signals to match the visitor to a company. It then enriches that company with firmographic data - size, industry, revenue, funding, location, tech stack - pulled from the web in real-time. Signal identifies the company, not the individual. You’ll see “Acme Corp visited your pricing page 3 times this week” - not a specific person’s name.

Qualification scoring

Every identified company is scored against your ideal customer profile. You define the criteria:
  • Company size - number of employees or revenue range
  • Industry - which sectors you sell to
  • Location - geographic focus
  • Tech stack - specific tools or platforms they use
  • Engagement level - how many pages they viewed, how often they return, which pages they spend time on
Companies that match your criteria are flagged as high priority in your dashboard.

Finding contacts

For qualified companies, Octolane automatically suggests key contacts - typically decision-makers and relevant stakeholders. Contact data is enriched with job titles, email addresses, LinkedIn profiles, and other relevant details.
