Filtering and searching
- Filter by type. Show only emails, only meetings, only AI actions, etc.
- Filter by person. Show only what one teammate (or one external contact) did.
- Date range. Last 7 days, last 30 days, custom.
- Search. Full-text search across every email body, meeting transcript, and note.
Notes
Drop notes on any record. Notes support:- Markdown. Headings, lists, code blocks, links
- @mentions. Notify a teammate or link to another record
- Pinning. Keep important context at the top of the timeline
- Editing and version history. Every edit logged

Type@ anywhere in a note or comment to:
- Tag a teammate. They get notified in-app, by email, and optionally in Slack
- Link a record.
@Acmeinserts a clickable link to that Account, Contact, or Opportunity
Comments
Comments live on a separate thread from notes. Use them for back-and-forth discussion you don’t want polluting the activity timeline:- Threaded replies
- Resolve when done
- Notification routing to the assigned owner
AI actions on the timeline
Every consequential AI action is logged with:- What changed. Field name, old value, new value
- Why it changed. The source (specific email, meeting moment, or web enrichment hit)
- Confidence. Octolane’s confidence in the update
- Who approved it. You, a teammate, or auto-approve threshold
