Every record in Octolane has a unified timeline. Open any Account, Contact, or Opportunity and you see everything that has ever happened on it, in order. Automatically.

Filtering and searching

  • Filter by type. Show only emails, only meetings, only AI actions, etc.
  • Filter by person. Show only what one teammate (or one external contact) did.
  • Date range. Last 7 days, last 30 days, custom.
  • Search. Full-text search across every email body, meeting transcript, and note.

Notes

Drop notes on any record. Notes support:
  • Markdown. Headings, lists, code blocks, links
  • @mentions. Notify a teammate or link to another record
  • Pinning. Keep important context at the top of the timeline
  • Editing and version history. Every edit logged

@mentions

Type @ anywhere in a note or comment to:
  • Tag a teammate. They get notified in-app, by email, and optionally in Slack
  • Link a record. @Acme inserts a clickable link to that Account, Contact, or Opportunity

Comments

Comments live on a separate thread from notes. Use them for back-and-forth discussion you don’t want polluting the activity timeline:
  • Threaded replies
  • Resolve when done
  • Notification routing to the assigned owner

AI actions on the timeline

Every consequential AI action is logged with:
  • What changed. Field name, old value, new value
  • Why it changed. The source (specific email, meeting moment, or web enrichment hit)
  • Confidence. Octolane’s confidence in the update
  • Who approved it. You, a teammate, or auto-approve threshold
Click any AI action to see the citation. If it’s wrong, revert in one click. Octolane learns from the correction.
